May 7-8, 2015 Orientation workshops Two orientation workshops organized in Mongolia:
  • One workshop to provide patent information training and broad guidance for general participants interested in the competition
  • Another workshop that helps secondary school teachers and students understand creativity and intellectual property, and provides guidance on the competition.
October 30, 2015 Deadline for submission of entries and shortlisting
  • The shortlisted contestants were provided with legal and technical advice, including guidance on patent information resources, by IPOM, to refine their submissions and enable them to prepare their oral presentations.
  • Contestants submitted their final entry by the prescribed deadline utilizing the guidance provided (which includes patent information).
  • Final contestants (one contestant per team) were given 100 USD to prepare their presentations.
December 28-30, 2015 Final Evaluation, Award Ceremony, and Final Workshop
  • Final one-day workshop, held back-to-back, along with the oral presentations session organized with a focus on developing appropriate technologies and their commercialization.
  • Participants had the opportunity to increase their understanding of measures required to introduce promising and useful inventions to the market.
Participation statistics: The competition was open to nationals and/or permanent residents of Mongolia. There were two application groups: general group and secondary school group.
