Objectives

To develop a more effective grease separation system that completely removes the fat and grease in wastewater from hotels, restaurants, and other facilities.
To commercialize and disseminate a grease separation system which is easy to install and cheap to operate.
To improve the water quality in the project area.
To address the problems regarding the water pollution issues in the target area (Vung Tau).

Current Situation

After KIPO developed and tested the grease separation system's quality and durability, 27 systems were provided to local manufacturers, restaurants, homes and public kindergartens. The system is designed to be operated at a low cost and be easily installed. These qualities ensured that many people can use the system and improve their awareness about water quality. In addition, it can deliver synergy by being used with the decentralized wastewater treatment system developed by KIPO in 2014.

Silk Weaving Machine Project

Background

Ma Chau Village is one of the most famous traditional silk production areas in Viet Nam. The producers use natural dyeing technology from parts of various plants such as the roots, flowers, and so on.

Objectives

To develop an efficient and eco-friendly Silk Weaving Machine for Ma Chau Village in Viet Nam to enhance the competitiveness of their silk products.
To improve the potential for domestic and export market by developing a related brand.

Current Situation

After KIPO developed the Silk Weaving Machine and the brands for Ma Chau village, the local village's income and sales increased 30% and 70%, respectively. Furthermore, this project provided more opportunities for the local village, such as creating new customers and improving profitability.
